What currencies can I use on OnePlanet?

The core currencies on OnePlanet are MATIC/WMATIC and USDC.

Written below are brief descriptions of respective core currencies of OnePlanet.

MATIC

MATIC is the native token of the Polygon Network. On OnePlanet, MATIC is used as basic payment currency for Fixed-price Sale as well as for primary currency representing key stats including volume traded of each collection.

WMATIC

WMATIC is “wrapped MATIC”, an ERC-20 compatible version of MATIC. On OnePlanet, WMATIC is used as basic payment currency for making an Offer.

For MATIC to be used with smart contract functionality, it needs to be “wrapped” into an ERC-20 token. Since WMATIC is a wrapped version of MATIC, 1 WMATIC will always be equivalent to 1 MATIC.

USDC

USD Coin (USDC) is a digital currency that is fully backed by U.S. dollar assets. USDC is a tokenized U.S. dollar, with the value of one USDC coin pegged 1:1 to the value of one U.S. dollar.

OnePlanet supports Polygon USDC only. Polygon USDC is a ‘bridged’ version of USDC, which is created when USDC on Ethereum is bridged to the Polygon network via the Polygon Bridge. Please refer to the Bridged USDC Terms for more information.

For Polygon tokens other than MATIC to appear on your MetaMask wallet, you may need to add them manually. Note that the tokens still exist on the chain though they do not appear on your MetaMask wallet unless you add them. If you are not sure how to add a custom token on MetaMask, please do so here - How to add a custom token.

The Table below shows the contract addresses for commonly used tokens on Polygon you might like to know.
